FYI... I have founded an official DarkSpace SETI@Home Team...
SETI@home is a scientific experiment that uses Internet-connected computers in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). You can participate by running a free program that downloads and analyzes radio telescope data.

If you would like to join the "Official" DarkSpace team, just download the BOINC client, join the SETI@home project, then in your account you can select to join a team... simply search for DarkSpace.

this is cool i have been doing Seti longer than i have been playing darkspace.
and since the upcomming of Boinc it realy has been a little boom in the community.
Im surprised that Faustus didn't found it sooner.
O wel you might know or not know that there are other projects out there.
giving some examples;
Rosetta @Home
TSC
Folding @Home
D2OL
RC5-72
OGR-25
DPAD
Seventeen or Bust
the first four are the one's that my work is boinc'ing for.
there mostly related to making or finding cures for Diseases.
of course there are lots more.
hope you guys can make your contribution and join.

It causes the CPU to max out at 100% whilst you run it (or you're preferences are set to run it). Computers that can't cope with 100% CPU for 24 hours or longer, are not really great computers, and cannot cope with the heat that the processor generates when doing this. Machines that crash when running are therefor - rubbish.

second
Pause or close Boinc when your gona run games or anny other program that might use some serious cpu.
Better yet if you install Boinc on a workstation running 24/7 but only use during the day.
I would sugest using the option in your seti profile to limit the run time to the hours your not using it.
and yes what he said computers that can't scope with 100% cpu load for long periodes or even 24/7 are not even worth there weight in H2O.
