hi there i just dl the game and booted it up but it keeps saying cant connect to the server is it down or is it me?

The servers aren't down at the moment.
and where willing to help you get started to play this wonderfull game but.
first some questions to help us help you faster. 
are you able to login to the game ?
are you able to get in to the lobby
> do you have a firewall or are you behind a nat router.
> what kind of isp do you have.
> where do you live (general location e.g. US texas, europe or asia)
if enterd the game lobby.
> do you see the other players.
> where you able to update the game.
just some basic things. answer these and some one may be able to help you faster.

im in the uk
i have a firewall
i cant enter lobby or tuturiol thats where the problem is it wont connect to the srver
im using a bt home hub router
wasent aware i needed to update if i need to plz tell me where and how
any hlp would be much apreciated

have you unblocked darkspace.exe in your firewall?
I do forget what ports it uses. My firewall right now says anywhere 1281 to 1258 locally. But I don't know for sure.

Did you download the correct install?
If you did, you may need to configure your router/firewall to allow access to DS.
For future reference, the port DS uses is 9001.
