I am trying to get a feel for the balance we seek in 484. I am curious. What is the idea of balance you are aiming for?
Is it like, 2 frigs vs 1 dessie = 50-50 change on who wins. Same for 2 dessies vs 1 cruiser, 2 cruisers vs 1 dread, etc?
What exactly are you aiming for? This is important if we are to help you beta test the next release. I am think 2-3 of one vessel class below should come out to be a 50-50 on who wins. that seems reasonable. large ships have power then, but are not invincible. Let me know where you guys are aiming for. Thanks.

I think it'll be about 3 Scouts to beat a dessie, and up until dreads.. Which I think their going to make abit more of a beast to kill.. 4-5 cruisers to do efficient dammage and such..
Stations will be monsters!

roughly,
1 station = 2 dreads = 4 cruisers = 8 dessies = 16 frigates = 32 scouts, or something fairly close to it. this is of course disregarding skill level, a very skilled frigate pilot could probably solo a dessie, perhaps two if they're noobish and/or spent most/all of .483 bombing..
acutal scaling may very, thats what beta testing is for.

If i remember right destroyers do 0 armour damage to a station, and frigates do 0 armour damage to a dreadnaught. Because armour recharges too fast for the ship to do any lasting damage.

I like, what about the massaive increase the ships have for weapons? will they stay the same?.(as well the mass armour)
Also will engines really work this time?
the
AFE? AME? an so drivers I am talking about.
will kluth ships be able to speed up faster then the rest? (of the same class of ship type)

It's not a faster recharge of armor it's cause the lower level ships does less damage. SO a scout wont be uber anymore.
