I have been on and off working on a freely distributable CD-ISO for DarkSpace.

People coulod jsut download this and burn of thier own DarkSpace Installation CD's (the ISO would also have info included about printing a CD cover and other details like including your referal ID on the CD insert)

Players could then burn these off, print the Inserts and then give away the CD's to friends or give them to small games stores to give away for free.
These would not be an item intended for sale, as that would infringe on various agreements with Got Game.
I know several members of the community who would be prepared to outlay $10 or so to produce a few copies of these CD's. You can potentially gain more than your outlay from referrals on the CD inserts.

If anyone is willing to help on completing this project, or wants to know more information then post your questions here.

So far I have a working Autorun launcher that uses the .HTA extension of HTML to create an interface. Included documents would be the Manual, Screenshots, FAQ, RoC, History and other user resources all using the same format as the website.

The Game Installer itself only requires 50mb of space, so this gives a potential 600mb of space to play with for additional content.

The idea here is to get people a copy of the game for free (without the DL wait) so they can get into it...

Things we need... CD insert art

Basically will be a paper insert which can be folded to fit inside a plastic pvc CD wallet (IE covering the CD). Will be the same size as a standard card insert from the front of a cd jewel case(121mm width x 120mm height)

Must have the palestar logo, some form of ds graphic and the ds logo. Also the PC cd-rom logo in the top left corner.

Will want a 3cd logo at the bottom somewhere too. This is a logo we will have to create.
The back facing of insert will have the game description, 2-3 small screenshots, a section with system requirements and a little description of the 3cd project.

Inside the CD insert will be basic installation instructions, the distributors PlayerID (@xxxxx for referral purposes) and any other relevant information.

Promo of the front This image isnt set in stone..I still have two more images im going to try, and see what comes up..

Promo Number 2 Im not a fan of this image, but maybe it can help along the way..

Earth Added the ESRB rating, so parents who see kids with this CD, dont think its pr0n..

Lone Cruiser Finaly finished this one, added color too the Darkspace letters..

I still have an original copy of DS too... Got Game still has the rights to manufacture the game (print the cd) for money? Wouldn't the rights only be good for a certian run batch? That is usually how it is done on single run CD programs....

Unless someone has changed the rules since the last time I didi research on this a few years back.

there is a lot of good sites were free games (see: warez) use .torrents and .iso's and such. Perhaps if you were to seed some, it make spark some interest. Although it may be a large ammount of people, chances are they'll break the RoC in 5 seconds flat. But, then again, you have the chance of finding some good people

ah well. just something I'm bringing up

(ps: if you give me the .torrent for the .iso, I would be happy to help)
