I am going to try to contain my ire here, because I know that I am just as guilty as any of you for not noticing this sooner.

Anyone looked at the frigates in the newly release 1.483? I can only speak for the UGTO side at the moment.

You know the Interceptor frigate? That midshipman-level initiate frigate? Got a pretty decent loadout, right? P torps, 4 Particle cannons, 2 missiles?

What about its cousin the Harrier? The 1st-lieutenant and bronze-combat "heavy" frigate of the UGTO?

Someone PLEASE explain to me how 1.483 could be in testing for a year and a half and NO-ONE noticed that the Harrier has less armor, two less proton cannons, and no extra missile or torp loadouts of any kind to make it the heavy frigate it's supposed to be?

That's why its rank requirement is so high, is it not? Yet it's currently nothing but a dumbed-down Interceptor.

With a MiRV bomb.

Please, Faustus, and Tael... while 1.483 is still a baby on the servers... can we have a look at these low-level ship loadouts (all three sides) and fix this? Normally, little balance tweaks post-release never really happen... but this is 1.483. The balance patch. And this is the kind of bug/slip-up that should never happen in such a patch.

Ah, I guess I let my ire out a little.

You get my point, I hope.

not a big surpice to me thrugh all of the time i have been in ds i have allways yelld typed and said that in the dev /ballance process most tend to forget the entry lvl ships completly.

to much focus on the bigger ships as allways

and now where we gona need them becaus its less expencive to fully upgrade an frigate than an cruzzer or dest

That's not a bug per se, Backslash, but more a suggestion; it may get deleted from Mantis.

We have realistically done as much testing as possible in beta, and without having a written list of all the ship loadouts it's pretty hard to go through and see all the variations. At least we have the capability to balance any variations like this that we might encounter.

If anyone else notices odd things like this then please post them in this thread. It is expected that the release needs tweaks like this.
