Ok guys, I seem to be forgetting many aspects of DS that have changed over the years, so this thread is for the vets to add their own memories of aspects of the game so others might remember.

I'll start with one that I was reminded by in the beta forum.


1. Being able to group with people. Man that was crazy.

and I'll add one more

2. The missile dread having no rear armor -_-

1: little destroyers able to own EAD's in thier sleep.

1) cloud bombing...oh man I miss my CD
2) Like Meko said, uber Shield graphics
3) Defending Planet missions... loved getting 500k for just sitting there
4) K'luth using CL2k
5) Being able to cap a planet with only 5 inf. (Before Inf stacking was around )

1. Targets being square (not diamonds).
2. Jump drives being much, much slower.
3. Docking to trade with ships
4. Jumpgates linking systems the MV
5. Demorian thinking that going at 27.0 gu/s was "warp speed".

Beam weapons going through ships
IT missiles and the way they zoomed about very easily (bit like AR's)
Nimby
QSB's
Kluth having no armour
ICC having those rediculas uber shields at one short period of time
EAD being able to equip 4 flux beams

You weren't actually here way back then were you Backslash? I need someone to cooberate (yeah, I know I spelled that wrong okay? Im not looking it up) that story.

Heres as far back as I go

-Factories made metal

-Switching sides every 15 minutes, because thats how often DS crashed and your team was always full.

- Making PCM clouds (oldschool for some people)

stations holding 20 troops, and able to jump!
flux replacing cannons not torps, the ead only had 1 and the ad 4 that was cool
planets selling drugs
having to start at the home gate every time you died
TWP always owning wolf
PCMs and Mirvs able to replace torps
Evil Thought and his PCM mandible
Agents in the MV (im sure I saw it once or twice)
the kluth only having one dreadnaught, the mandible
life before stations
