Took me bloomin ages to get these damn screenies.. had to ask for about an hour to hcange it.. i had to open it with quicktime.. screnshot it. then load it into MS Word then Crop it and tweak them for about 30 mins then load them into image shack and BANG were done.. but then.. Image shack wouldnt let me have MS word file type.. so i had to register on photo bucket then CHANGE THE BLOOMIN file type.. to Jpeg then load them into Image Shack. but then that didnt work... im stuck with MS word.. after DLing other programs i finally figured it out.. i screenshot the MS word 1. load it into MS Paint then save it as Jpeg.. FINALLY
Faustus or DS developers.. i nthis patch please make Screenies into a suitable filetype please?

The filetypes are suitable, they are pretty much standard. You will find most all screens in game are taken with tga, jpg, or insanely enough bmp. They due this because they produce high quality images with less filesize(mostly). You should get an image editor that supports the standard filetypes. I am vaguely familiar with ms word, I didn't know it had a native image type, although hearing that makes me think ms has lost it's mind. After all, I would guess 95% of all images you see online are gif, jpg, or png. So I'll go out on a limb here and say I don't think the devs will add screenshot support for ms word, since no one would use it.
I can recommend software for you to use, Adobe: Photoshop, JASC: Paint Shop Pro, Macromedia: Fireworks. They're pay software, but there are many free ones available.

Like I said before, to correct your problem, simply use standard image editing software, all of them free or otherwise allow you to view tga(well 90% anyway) and export to jpg, microsoft either doesn't or thier support for it is shoddy or doesn't work. So you will need to find image editing software that uses the common formats.

cant i just take a screenshot and paste it into MS paint and save as jpeg... but i loose alot of pic quality
